Why it works

Secure flange pockets. The openings grip the shields so nothing slides or tips while you move. This is the whole job of a pumping bra, and it is the part cheap ones get wrong.
Step in or pull on. Step into it and pull it up, or take it over your head. Either way there is no wrestling a tight band into place halfway through a letdown.
Wear it all day. Flat seams and a wide underband mean it works as an ordinary bra between sessions, so you're not changing four times a day.
Wearable pumps too. The openings take in-bra cups as well as standard flanges and tubing.
Four colors. Black, nude, mocha and deep gray, all the same cut.

How a session goes

Put the bra on first, then open the pockets and seat the flanges through them. Adjust the straps so the shields sit square rather than pulling off to one side. A flange sitting at an angle is the usual reason a session hurts or drains slowly, and no bra can fix that for you.

Then sit down and do something else for twenty minutes. If you're pumping at work, it is easier to wear it under your clothes all day and only take the flanges in and out.

Finding your size

There is no measurement table on this page. We don't have measurements for this bra that we can stand behind, and we would rather say so than invent them. Sizes run as listed: S to 2XL in all four colors, and XS in black.

If you are between sizes, take the larger one. The band should feel firm, not tight, because the flanges pull forward when the bottles fill. If the band sits wrong, send it back and we'll swap it. Size exchanges are free.

Who it is not for

This is a pumping bra. It doesn't have drop clips for feeding directly, so if you want one garment that does both, the All-in-One Flexible Pumping Bra is the one to look at. It is also not a fix for a badly sized flange: if pumping hurts, the flange is far more likely to be the problem than the bra.

Will it fit my pump?
It takes most standard flanges and most in-bra wearable cups. We can't promise every model on the market, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. Tell us what you're using before you order and we will give you an honest answer: support@dearmother.co.

Can I wear it under work clothes?
Yes. That is how most people use it: on all day, flanges in and out as needed.

Can I feed the baby in it?
Not directly, no. It opens for flanges, not for nursing.

What if the size is wrong?
Send it back within 30 days and we'll exchange it. Size exchanges cost you nothing.

Questions we get a lot

Take the larger one. Almost everything here is worn on a body that is still changing, and a garment with a little room stays wearable for months longer than one that fits perfectly today. Where a product has a measurement table, use it. Where it doesn't, it is because we don't have numbers from the maker that we can stand behind, and we would rather say so than publish a table we invented.

Orders are packed in 1-2 business days and typically arrive 3-7 business days after that, so most orders land inside a fortnight of ordering and often sooner. Shipping in the US is free over $50.

If you are ordering for a due date, order earlier than feels necessary. Babies are famously bad at reading calendars, and a belly band that arrives after the birth helps nobody.

You have 30 days to return anything unworn, with the tags on. Size exchanges are free: you don't pay to swap a size you guessed wrong.

Roughly by stage. Belly bands and pregnancy pillows are for the months before. Nursing and pumping bras, belly wraps and breast pads are for after. High-waist briefs and a nursing bra are the two things people tend to use on both sides of the birth.

Every product page has a "Who it is not for" section or an equivalent, and they mean it. If two products look like they overlap, the page for each says which job the other one does better.

We are not able to give medical advice, and we are not going to pretend otherwise on a product page. Support garments should feel like support, never like compression, and nothing here should hurt. If it does, take it off.

After a caesarean, wait until your doctor or midwife has cleared you for abdominal support before wearing a wrap or a band, and stop if anything pulls at the incision. If you have a high-risk pregnancy or any complication, ask them first. They know your situation and a website does not.
